Here at farans we are committed to designing and producing, ethically and sustainably sourced products using a variety of materials and working partnerships for the benefit of our customers, our chosen charity projects and the planet.
relove saves waste
At farans we love the journey.
With a spirit of curioisty, creativity and individuality we empower our customers to embrace their wanderlust with style, but also care. Our mission is to inspire everyone to experience the world while leaving the earth a better place. We believe in circularity as the cornerstone of sustainability. We start by making sure every farans product is crafted with eco-friendly materials and ethical manufacturing practices. Our unique relove initiative and closed-loop system allow customers to return for resale, recycle, or re-home their accessories, ensuring our products continue their journey beyond the first owner. This promotes a greener planet and smarter consumption. We exist to enable and inspire journeys that are kind to the earth and enriching for the traveler
Our bags travel further with relove
With relove, we're extending our products lifetime, one bag and journey at a time, cutting down on unnecessary waste and breathing new life into the meaning of circularity. We understand that as enduring as farans products are, sometimes you fall out of love. Sometimes they don't quite fit your extensive travel plans. And sometimes, you end up loving an item 'to bits' -literally! That's where relove comes in. We will find the best home for your used pieces either with customers, charities or repurposing or recycling.
Giving
We are proud to continue the long term relationship we have with The Hope Foundation (HOPE), in particular during a year which marks the charity’s 25th anniversary. Every bag or accessory we sell and sets out on its journey, goes one step closer to enable HOPE to deliver its vision of "a world where it should never hurt to be a child" and help disadvantaged children on their journey to a better future. HOPE was established in 1999 to protect the rights of street-connected children in Kolkata, India. The charity’s mission is to ensure children’s basic rights and enhance their dignity through the provision of access to protection, healthcare, education, emergency response and livelihood skills development programmes. HOPE implements
diverse, innovative and sustainable programmes to empower the most vulnerable and marginalised children and communities with the support they need to enjoy healthy, joyful lives – thus providing them with better opportunities for their
futures.
We pledge money from our
online sales every quarter in 2024/25 to specifically
fund our chosen project; HOPE's crèche programme, which
supports young children living in the Kasba slum community, who would otherwise be left alone for long periods of time while their parents are at work. The crèche provides pre-primary, non-formal
education to children aged 2-6 years, along with supplementary nutrition, growth monitoring,
as per guidelines on Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), [J2] and crèche uniforms.
The project team in Kolkata identify and enrol children who are not accessing pre-primary or
facilities for early childhood care and education. Kasba crèche provides pre-primary education and life-skill enhancement such as personal hygiene, communication, self-expression, protection, and motor skills. Look out for stories
and updates in the coming months.
